Our History

After graduation in 2002, Evan began repairing computers and building custom systems for family and friends, naming the business Evan Schroeder's Custom Computers. As the number of systems built increased dramatically, he began repairing systems that were infected with spyware, viruses, and other hardware issues. Evan started to receive many requests to service customers computers in their own homes, to eliminate having to unplug the many cords and the travel. In late 2008, Evan and Dana moved from Kleefeld to New Bothwell, and wanted a different name that better suited our community. They applied for the phone number 388-BALL (2255) for the paintball park, but were given a temporary number of 388-6373. After realizing what it spelled (388-NERD), they decided to keep it, and the name New Bothwell Nerd was born.

Since early 2010 it was decided that a second 'Nerd' was required, to provide the service that was expected on those days where Evan was not available. Tyler Warkentin is our current resident 'Nerd', residing in Niverville, MB.

About Us

Evan and Dana graduated from the Steinbach Regional Secondary School in 2002, and were married in 2003. They bought a house trailer and lived in Kleefeld, on Evan's family dairy farm. As the paintball business grew, we decided to take it on full-time and leave the farming opportunity behind. We purchased property just north of New Bothwell, Manitoba, where we currently reside. Our weekends from April to October are filled with managing the paintball park (www.Splatters Paintball.com), giving us the time to build and repair computers throughout the week.
